Budgam, Mar 11 (KNO): Authorities on Wednesday intensified market checking across Budgam district ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr to ensure adherence to hygiene standards, rate lists and quality of food items in markets.
An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a market checking drive was conducted in Chadoora area where several shops and business establishments were inspected.
During the drive, the team checked hygiene conditions, rate lists and quality of food items. Several violations were reported during the inspection following which challans were issued to the violators, while a number of outdated and expired items were also seized from different shops.
The drive was carried out in presence of Naib Tehsildar Chadoora along with officials from the Food Safety Department, Police and Municipal Committee Chadoora.
Officials said that such drives will continue in the coming days to ensure that traders follow the guidelines and consumers are not overcharged ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr—(KNO)
